1st Common Mistake when trying to lose weight post pregnancy
Relying on diet foots to cut your calories is a common mistake when trying to lose weight. They need to be supplemented with “whole foods”. Without these it can deprive your body causing your metabolism to fall. This is especially true once you get to your target weight, then start to eat “normally” again. This is one of the main causes of yo-yo dieting. Without nutritious metabolism boosting foods, your metabolism can drop dramatically which once you stop dieting your body cannot process the “normal” food fast enough, so it turns it into fat reserves. Sure, use these low calories foods but make sure you back them up with nutrient rich foods with high amounts of proteins, antioxidants and health fats etc.
2nd Common Mistake when trying to lose weight post pregnancy
Its a huge misconception that is you miss a meal you will lose weight faster. This is especially true of losing weight after having a baby. This is even worse than relaying solely on diet foods for slowing down your metabolism. The main offender for this is skipping breakfast. Eating a healthy meal in the morning, whether that is cereal or scrambled egg is key for getting your body’s metabolism back in shape after a slow night. There have been numerous studies that have found that if you have a balanced breakfast you are more active and your mind is sharper during the morning. A breakfast wakes you up! Post pregnancy it is key to giving your body the nutrients and vitamins you need to get you through the day. To lose weight you need to eat better meals not less!
3rd Common mistake
Doing lots of long cardio exercise in the gym will burn off more fat. Really long sessions of cardio can train your body to slow down its metabolism and even store your body fat. A long distance run without stopping means your body is doing huge amounts of exercise but with no re nourishment. This can make your body think it is being starved if you do not give your body what you need, again slowing down your metabolism to help it last. Shorter cardio exercises with rest and replenishment are better for losing weight. If you feed your body you can then burn more calories as you have more energy, with builds muscle with in turn boosts metabolism. This can help create that tight lean look you are after.
Hopefully this has helped point you in the right direction to get you on the way to losing your weight after pregnancy.
